The singing is me but the lyrics are all placeholder and were sung off the top of my head because I do music first and lyrics last. The band is me and my longtime friend Eric and its what I spent 5 months in Wisconsin doing and music is really all I've been doing with my life for the last 8 years.

haha i'm twenty five years old and i've got no diploma no job no job history and i live with my parents and all I've got to show for my life is an unfinished polka song...

Have you ever wondered what the two most brilliant music videos are? I bet you have. I bet you've felt lost and listless knowing that you don't know. Like how Odysseus felt on his epic but ultimately tragic journey to find out what the two most brilliant music videos were only to realize they did not have television back then. Is it wrong that I find this to be near goddamn perfect? Sure, it's just the original song run through some pitchshifters and ring modulators, but I guarantee you that the execution of what was done to this was totally masterful and I could never make anything that comes together as well as this no matter how hard I tried.

Girl Talk and that whole mashup crud can go to heck, this is what appropriation should be like. Not some lame frenzy of "Hey remember this song! Haha yeah I do too and I sampled it and put rap on top of it!", but actually creating something new out of what was sampled.

It's an awesome terrifying nightmare and it rules.

I would like a wristwatch that has a cryptic and completely undecipherable method of telling time with a bunch of dials and dots that change position and like some slowly rotating tetrahedrons and one of those sunset/sunrise picture indicators except the moon is perpetually eclipsing the sun for an eternal twilight and the watch would glow a strange blue and whenever anyone asks me the time I will look at my watch and fall totally silent for a moment while looking increasingly concerned and finally stutter "Oh no... This isn't right... This isn't right at all..."

FUCK YES!!

I had no faith in this happening and was entirely sure that i would be horribly depressed about politics for another 4 or 8 years but with this first place damage done in Iowa things might actually work out and I am very happy :)

EDIT: I should be clear, I'm talking about Barack Obama winning the Iowa caucus. If you don't know what that means just be very excited about how the world will most likely suck a lot less for the next 8 years.

You were always smiling, and always friendly. You were always generous to me in all our interactions, buying me sushi when we first met when you didn't even know me (expensive sushi not like cheap sushi), getting us all weed when we got high in Erin's parents house while her parents were out of town, and burning me rap CDs. Your face was always a great addition to any social event, and people like you who consistantly go out of their way for others are a rare and noble breed.

This life is not an easy life, and sometimes the weight of this world is too much. I can't imagine how much pain you must have been in, and the inner demons you had to fight. But I understand that your pain was enough to compel you to do this, and I have no animosity towards you for your choice.

I pray that your soul will one day find peace you seek that you could not find in this world, wherever it may be.

You were a good dude, rest in peace my nigga.

I feel like actually keeping a livejournal for some reason, but don't want to use my really old outdated one full of youthful angst from years past. So I'm going to try and post stuff about my completely boring life here in Illinois and maybe some music I'm making or music I like because music is the only interesting thing I have to talk about.

THINGS I DID RECENTLY:

-Had a very unfortunate mishap watching Inland Empire. During the polish parts I kept thinking that "Using foreign language sections to make you feel isolated is kind of a neat trick I guess... but this is getting tiring", and if you've seen the movie you can guess that afterwards I found out that there were supposed to be fucking subtitles for the Polish sections but my unethically downloaded version of the movie did not have them. Serves me right, honestly. I'm not really in a hurry to go see the real, subtitled version, because ignoring the subtitle mishap, which to the movie's credit is a big part of the movie, the movie seemed like a really long unwieldly mess of trying too hard to be weird. It had some really great parts, but as a huge Lynch fan I was left pretty bummed out. Mulholland still remains my favorite of his.

-Shaved my head literally on an impulse. That was fun, but dumb. I'm glad my hair is growing back and I don't look awful any more.

-Watched all of "Look Around You" in like two days. It's really funny, here just click this link and watch: http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/1/266

-Didn't really like the new radiohead album much. It was alright, but nothing special.

-Still absolutely in love with Brian Mcmahan. I don't have to tell you about Slint - Spiderland (and if I do, fuck you!! that's the best rock album of the 90s no question!! what the hell is wrong with you!!), but he also had another band called "The For Carnation" which also only had one album (but then two eps and an album consisting of just those two eps that wasn't anything to write home about) and in my opinion their self titled album deserves nearly as much praise as Spiderland. I don't like when reviewers use the word "haunting" because it's almost never a good description of the music but in this case it really is.

-Got bored makin a list I'll write stuff later !
